My name is Harolyn, and I have decided to start a blog for caregivers. I have been a caregiver for over 25 years to my wonderful husband Rick. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease 30 years ago. We had been married 7 years, and had a 6 year old, and a 3 year old. Where has the time gone?
I never had anyone to go to, to ask questions and I felt so alone. I don't want anyone else to go through this journey alone. Please feel free to write and ask questions, I will hopefully be able to help. As time goes on I will write stories that I am sure you will be able to relate to.
It's Sunday night and I have just come back from the assisted living where my husband lives. Rick is only 5 minutes away from our house which really helps since I am there so much of the time. This afternoon the poor man couldn't move, and needed to be lifted to get out of bed. Rick moves constantly and is never comfortable wherever he is. He now needs assistance to use the bathroom, showering, and dressing. I know this may be hard to read, however I need to tell my story.
